St. Luke’s Lab receives AABB accreditation
Sioux City, IA - St. Luke’s Transfusion Services has been granted accreditation by AABB.
To achieve this accreditation, St. Luke’s Transfusion Services underwent an intensive on-site assessment by the AABB assessors in which it met or exceeded accreditation standards set by the AABB. AABB–accredited organizations are recognized by their peers as leaders in their field.
“The AABB’s accreditation procedures are voluntary,” says Doctor Mike Kafka, Medical Director of St. Luke’s Laboratory. “St. Luke’s sought AABB accreditation because of the program’s reputation in achieving excellence by promoting a level of professional and medical expertise that contributes to quality performance.”
AABB’s accreditation program contributes to the quality and safety of collecting, processing, testing, distributing and administering blood and cellular therapy products. AABB is an international, not-for-profit association established in 1947.
