St. Luke's receives OR of the Year Award
07/28/2011
Sioux City, IA - St. Luke’s has been recognized by a leading industry publication for its new operating rooms. Surgical Products magazine has awarded St. Luke’s with the publication’s OR of the Year Award in the New Construction Category.
The magazine’s OR of the Year Awards are given to hospitals across the country that are advancing and improving surgical care. Surgical Products magazine is distributed to every one of the 5,460 acute care hospitals in the nation.
Earlier this year, St. Luke’s opened the doors to the hospital’s new multi-million dollar surgery project which included the construction of new, state-of-the-art operating rooms. The six rooms feature cutting edge video imaging technology and were designed to enhance patient flow and privacy. The unit was built in an oval-shaped system, so equipment and supplies are conveniently and readily available to staff in the operating rooms.
In addition to the construction of new operating rooms, St. Luke’s surgery project included the construction of new, private pre-operative and post-operative patient rooms and patient waiting area.
St. Luke’s will be included in August edition of Surgical Products magazine which will highlight all of the publication’s OR the Year Award winners.
