Hospitalist Program
Hospitalists are acute-care doctors and providers devoted to patient care from the time of admission to the point of discharge. Each of the doctors is board-certified in Internal Medicine and highly-experienced and established in the
Sioux City, Iowa, region.
St. Luke's hospitalists are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, allowing for a more timely and efficient hospital experience. They provide patients with:
- Access to acute-care doctors devoted to patients' care.
- Expert care from the time of admission to the point of discharge.
- A coordinated team approach and assistance from other doctors, nurses and support staff.
- Timely responses to patient needs.
- Quicker determination of when tests should be run.
- More efficient responses on interpreted test results.
- More frequent check-ins from the doctor.
