A broken heart defies the odds...

Two years ago Rian and Stephanie welcomed their second child, Jack.  Unknown to his parents, Jack was born with a broken heart.  With barely a chance to greet him, he was taken from his mother's arms and transported for open-heart surgery to save his life.  Though the surgery was successful, their nightmare had just begun.

Over the past two years, Jack has been hospitalized countless times for pneumonias and lung infections. While focusing on his lungs, they were surprised to learn that Jack's heart would once again need to be surgically repaired. The Neeser family prepared emotionally for another open-heart surgery. Would their son pull through? As they waited and wondered, they prayed for a miracle!

Jack survived. He defied the odds. After only 3 days in the hospital, Jack returned home. Today, this energetic 2-year-old likes to show everyone his "hopper scar" - a reminder to his parents that life is truly a miracle.
